Violinist Joins the Bozeman Symphony

Bozeman, Mont. – The Bozeman Symphony and Music Director Norman Huynh welcome Ryann Aery of Denver to its violin section starting with the February 13-15 concert, Cinematic Legends: The Music of Hans Zimmer & Ennio Morricone.

Born in New York, Aery is an accomplished performer and educator who has built a dynamic career across the country. Since relocating to Denver, she has become a prominent presence in the orchestral landscape of the Rocky Mountain West. She currently serves as Assistant Principal First Violin with the Cheyenne Symphony, Assistant Principal Second Violin with the Wyoming Symphony, and Section Violin with the Fort Collins Symphony.

Aery’s career is marked by notable competitive achievements and performances on world-renowned stages. In 2014, she won first place in the AFAF International Concerto Competition, leading to her solo debut performing Barber’s Violin Concerto at Carnegie Hall. She was also a winner of the 2020 Concerto Aria Competition at Boise State University, where she performed Brahms’ Violin Concerto. Her orchestral experience includes performances at Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, The Morrison Center, and Kleinhans Music Hall with ensembles such as The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Boise Philharmonic, and Buffalo Philharmonic.

Her extensive training reflects a deep commitment to musical excellence. Aery earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Ithaca College and spent her senior year studying at the Manhattan School of Music. She holds a Master of Music from New York University, where she graduated summa cum laude while studying with the Metropolitan Opera Associate Concertmaster. She also earned a second Master of Music degree from Boise State University as a member of the Graduate Scholarship String Quartet Program.

In addition to her performing career, Aery is a dedicated educator. She has served as adjunct music faculty at New York University, studied the Suzuki and Rolland pedagogical methods, and is frequently invited to coach workshops and competitions. Her artistic development has been further enriched through scholarships to the Bowdoin International Music Festival and Brevard Music Center, where she performed alongside internationally renowned artists.
