As Engagement Coordinator, you are responsible for the planning and execution of BSO education and community engagement activities. Responsibilities include scheduling events, hiring musicians, coordinating with teachers and other community members, requesting performance permissions for Symphony Storytime materials, event planning, and execution of the Symphony’s “Front of House” activities for all performances and special events, as well as maintaining, training, and supervising a reliable and diverse group of volunteers.
This position is a member of the BSO Education and Community Engagement team, supervised by the Director of Education and Community Engagement, and works closely with all administrative staff of the Bozeman Symphony.

Requirements:
A college degree or 1-3 years of previous experience in organizing and coordinating events.
Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
Highly organized team player with ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects from beginning to end with a high degree of accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to be a self-starter, learn quickly, problem solve, and possess a “can-do” attitude.
Ability to build relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Availability to work evenings, concert weekends, and special events.
Ability to stand and walk for up to six hours a day.
Must occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds.
Position requires a valid US driver’s license and a vehicle that can be used for work purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Passion for the performing arts and classical music.
Experience with Square or similar POS systems and sales terminals to manage concessions and merchandise sales.
Experience handling cash and credit sales and running reconciliation reports to monitor product stock and sales.
Experience teaching in a classroom setting and creating teaching/curriculum materials.
Experience playing an instrument in an ensemble.
Fluency in a second language (Spanish, preferred).

Compensation: $50,000 / year
Job Type: 40+ hour a week, Full-time, salaried exempt
Hours: Typical hours include office time between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday, PLUS additional hours as needed and availability to oversee setup for events and concerts that may take place in the evenings and on weekends. Your schedule will be approved by the Director of Education and Community Engagement.

The Orchestra Personnel Manager is responsible for administering the personnel of the orchestra. This includes the preparation and maintenance of payroll and other records, scheduling musicians, hiring of substitute and extra musicians, coordination of lodging for traveling musicians, and coordination of auditions. The Personnel Manager serves as the main liaison between the staff and the musicians of the orchestra and choir. The Orchestra Personnel Manager works closely with the Music Director, Choir Director, and artistic staff on the hiring of musicians, substitutions, or changes in the roster.

Bachelor’s degree in music and/or arts management or 1-3 years of relevant experience working with a symphony orchestra.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy are essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
Ability to meet deadlines, often under pressure.
Ability to prioritize tasks in accordance with established deadlines.
Familiarity with orchestral instruments.
Ability to work independently and with teams of people.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Have a very high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness.
Have a strong work ethic and require minimal direction.
Ability to be a self-starter, learn quickly, problem solve, and possess a “can-do” attitude.

The Concert Manager is responsible for critical “behind the scenes” activities related to each of the Symphony’s performances. This immersive role includes the planning, organization, and execution of each orchestra and choir performance from beginning to end. Along with critical management functions related to production and planning, guest musician personnel, and stage management crew, this position forms the foundation of the organization’s artistic activities in coordination with the artistic vision each season. This position works closely with the Executive Director, along with a team of symphony orchestra professionals, including the Music Director, Symphonic Choir Director, Orchestra Personnel Manager, Assistant Conductor and Librarian, the orchestra and choir musicians, and additional administrative staff as needed. This position manages team members designated to support this role, typically including a Stage Manager, production setup crew, and volunteer recruits. This position works directly with the Willson Auditorium technical director and Bozeman School District staff, as well as any other event space administrative and production teams where the Bozeman Symphony performs, such as Hope Lutheran Church.

As the Symphony enters the third year of our five-year strategic growth plan, this critical position helps continue to strengthen the organization’s financial capacity, allowing the Symphony to invest in exceptional talent, create remarkable performances, expand community engagement and education initiatives, and build a stronger and more sustainable organization.
The Gift Officer is a vital member of the development team who will lead efforts to grow our Encore Society membership, with emphasis on Giving Circle, Mid-level, and Corporate support. The Gift Officer will engage and is responsible for the engagement of current donors, prospects, and members of the business community to help develop support at the $2,500 - $50,000 level through individual and corporate giving. Through moves management, the Gift Officer partners with the Director of Development to advance prospects through the donor cultivation cycle from identification and qualification into full-time portfolios to deepen donors' engagement and investment in the Symphony. This position works with the development team to plan and execute supporting events for cultivation and retention, as well as provide the administrative support needed for the management of fundraising in Patron Manager, donor recognition, and assistance in the development team’s annual fund campaign efforts.
This position is a member of the BSO Development team, supervised by the Director of Development, and works closely with all administrative staff, board, and artistic leadership of the Bozeman Symphony.

Qualifications:
A college degree or equivalent experience with at least 1-3 years of fundraising, preferably in the arts.
High standards of integrity, credibility, and reliability; ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
Demonstrated ability to initiate and build professional relationships with prospective donors and interact via telephone, online, and in-person; must be an effective networker.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to speak and write persuasively about the Bozeman Symphony and its value to the community.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Expertise in Leap Patron Management (Salesforce), WealthEngine, and other fundraising software.
Availability to work evenings, concert weekends, and special events.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including but not limited to, standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven track record of successful fundraising, including securing a range of gifts, planning campaigns, implementing strategy, and meeting budgetary goals.
Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to fundraising, planned giving, the grant-making process, best development practices, and fundraising trends at the local and national level.
Knowledge of the fundraising landscape of south-west Montana and trends with other area nonprofits.
Passion for the performing arts and knowledge of classical music, especially orchestral music.
Experience playing an instrument or singing in an ensemble.
Advanced degree and/or professional fundraising certification.
