Bozeman Symphony Chamber Choir Debuts with Love through the Ages on October 16

BOZEMAN, Mont. — The newly formed Bozeman Symphony Chamber Choir will perform its debut concert, Love through the Ages, on October 16 at Hope Lutheran Church. The program traces the many expressions of love across centuries and oceans, from Renaissance Venice to modern-day American reflections. This richly expressive evening of choral music features playful madrigals, Brahms’ charming Neue Liebeslieder, and luminous contemporary works, including a lush arrangement of Joni Mitchell’s whimsical folk classic, Both Sides Now.

Conducted by Symphonic Choir Director, Conor Whalen, the Chamber Choir is an ensemble of approximately 24 singers drawn from the ranks of the larger Symphonic Choir. When Whalen stepped into his role as Director of the Bozeman Symphonic Choir in 2025, he immediately recognized an opportunity for something extraordinary, inspired by the exceptional talent of the Symphonic Choir’s singers. “It quickly became clear that there was an opportunity to create something new. The level of musicianship, dedication, and artistry within the choir was remarkable,” he recalls.

Whalen envisioned a smaller ensemble, well positioned to explore some of the most intimate and challenging works in the choral repertoire. “The Chamber Choir will offer audiences an intimate and distinct listening experience, bringing everything from Renaissance masterworks to contemporary choral gems to life.” he said.

With this concert, that vision becomes a reality.

The performance will take place on Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m. Hope Lutheran Church, located at 2152 W Graf Street in Bozeman.

This concert is made possible through the generous support of sponsors Bob & Donna Ritchie and Bruce & Kimberlie Jodar.
