Bozeman Symphonic Choir Concert is November 13-15

BOZEMAN, Mont. –The Bozeman Symphonic Choir and Bozeman Symphony, under the direction of Conor Whalen, choir director, and Norman Huynh, music director, present Night & Light: The Music of Lauridsen & Shaw—a deeply moving program featuring four choral masterpieces by acclaimed composers Morten Lauridsen, Caroline Shaw, and Franz Biebl on November 13–15 at Hope Lutheran Church.

Audiences will be enveloped in the breathtaking beauty of Lauridsen’s Nocturnes, a luminous work that captures the mystery and allure of night through a rich tapestry of languages and poetry. Shaw’s and the swallow, inspired by Psalm 84, offers a poignant reflection on longing, refuge, and hope. The program also includes Lauridsen’s transcendent Lux Aeterna, cherished worldwide for its radiant serenity and emotional depth, alongside Biebl’s timeless Ave Maria, a stunningly beautiful and contemplative work of quiet devotion.

“Our 100-member choir, together with the orchestra, will bring to life music that speaks directly to the soul,” said Choir Director Conor Whalen. “These works invite audiences on a journey that is both deeply spiritual and profoundly human, leaving listeners uplifted and transformed.”

Performances take place Thursday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2:30 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 2152 W. Graf St., Bozeman.
