Due to an unfortunate injury, guitarist Pablo Sáinz-Villegas will not be performing with the Bozeman Symphony. In his place, violinist Simone Porter will return to Bozeman to help bring its 2024-25 season to a powerful close. Porter will perform Felix Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, one of the most prominent and highly-regarded romantic violin concertos. Composed at the height of Mendelssohn’s brilliant career, the concerto became an instant classic and remains one of the cornerstones of the repertoire. The journey concludes with Copland’s Third Symphony, offering an emotional journey from the uneasy tranquility of the opening movement to the heroic optimism of the finale.
