VOLUNTEER WITH THE BSO

Without our extraordinary volunteer network, the Bozeman Symphony would not be able to provide the quality performances and events that we do. We have volunteers working throughout the season at concerts, special events, and providing office support as needed. In exchange for their time, office and concert volunteers are able to watch symphony concerts for free.

Volunteer position descriptions:

  • RUSH Ticket Sales
RUSH tickets are discounted tickets sold the Friday of the concert weekend and are sold in Howard Hall (MSU Campus, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm), Eckroth Music (4:00 pm - 6:00 pm) and ERA Landmark Downtown (4:00 pm - 6:00 pm). Volunteers will receive one complimentary ticket to the performance that weekend.

  • Family Pass Night Greeters
Ensure that families attending the Friday night dress rehearsal performance have their pass and receive their button for the concert.

  • Merchandise Sales
Sell Symphony merchandise (t-shirts, posters, etc.) before the concert begins, during intermission, and after the concert ends. Occasionally, merchandise sales will include CD's brought in by the guest artist.

  • Concessions Sales
Sell water, caramels, and cookies before the concert begins and during intermission.

  • Greeter
Greet patrons, hand out programs, and check ticket dates.

  • Usher
Assist patrons with finding their seats. Maps of the auditorium will be available to use.

  • Coat Check
Check patrons coats before the concert, during intermission (as needed), and after the concert ends.

  • Musician's Refreshments
Organize and lay out food and beverages for the musicians. Keep the cooler stocked with water, pour apple juice during intermission.

  • After-Concert Reception Set Up:
Setup and tear down of tables & chairs at the reception location. Assist the caterer or board member with food set up. Volunteers will miss the second half of the concert, but can receive tickets to the other performance that weekend.
