Featuring Guest Artists with the Symphonic Choir
The music of Christopher Theofanidis and his Rainbow Body is introduced as the contemporary composer interprets in musical form the Tibetan Buddhist idea of “Rainbow Body,” described as when the body of an enlightened being is reabsorbed into the universe upon death and transformed into energy and light. The melodic music of medieval composer Hildegard von Bingen serves as inspiration throughout. An epic season finale presents soprano, tenor, and baritone soloists along with the Symphonic Choir performing the legendary scenic cantata that addresses universal and timeless elements of the human experience with Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.
