We’ll tug at your patriotic heartstrings with this program of all-American music by three of our greatest American composers.
We’ll begin by joining a group of sailors on shore leave in the Big Apple as they explore the sights of New York and discover romance, in Leonard Bernstein’s Three Dances from On The Town. Next, our greatest American masterpiece, by the composer who defined the American sound: Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring. Finally, we’ll perform Howard Hanson’s lush Symphony No. 2, better know as the “Romantic” Symphony.
